Getting-to-know-the-G-Train interview opening the episode: the origin of the G-Train nickname (coined on Strava by his old school mate Professor Tim Stenier and used on his personalised race bibs); why he began filing roving reports from Canada two years ago while visiting his Canadian wife's family near Toronto, and the second Canadian series just completed from Mississauga, including volunteering as RD on New Year's Day; his running and parkrun story - running in the Army, twenty years off with chronic injuries, a first parkrun at Berwick Springs after spotting it from his car, then a two-year gap, then a return partly motivated by wanting to reclaim his neighbourhood after a local shooting in 2015, with his third event on 6 January 2016 as his "real parkrun birth"; and his volunteering at Berwick Waters' 12th event as a first-time marshal, promoting non-running ways to take part.
