Episode 413 - Transport & Tryouts
Peter: "What do you call a deer with no eyes? Bamb, because it's got no eyes at the end of Bambi." Mel calls it a dad joke; Peter downgrades it to a dud joke.
Episode 364 - Bumping Uglies
Festive Christmas-bonbon joke bit running through the episode: Simon and Ollie pull crackers, put on the paper hats and trade parkrun-themed jokes ("Why did the runner bring a calendar to the Christmas party? Because he wanted to start the year off on the right foot" and "What did the adventurers say to the Christmas tree during their parkrun? I pine for the finish, but you're a tremendous companion for this parkrun"), again ("Why did the running shoes break up before Christmas? Too many miles between them"), and Mel and Ollie close the show with two more.
Episode 303 - Home on the range
Simon, on the suggestion that Victoria should have a "Greatsman" version of the Statesman award, says "It kind of greats on me" and immediately labels it himself: "Dad joke." Mel replies "Them's fighting words."
Episode 297 - The one when Mel sings
Graham Wilkinson's snake joke inside Dazza's: "what did St Patrick say as he drove the snakes out of Ireland? ... Are you all right in the back there, lads?" Mel labels it "A dad joke". It wins the Obi, and the hosts openly wonder whether a dad joke segment should exist - "So that'll be the next new segment, will it? The dad joke. Has that happened in the pod before?" - with Mel nominating Peter Pohlman as a likely contributor.
Episode 289 - Lorikeets are Metal
Bruce's joke, read by Mel with the usual sound-effect sting: an old man on a mall bench tells a spiked-haired, made-up young man that he once got drunk with a parrot and wonders if the young man is his son. Tied to Ollie's rainbow-mohawk costume and to Darwin the lorikeet.
Episode 266 - Tinsel Time
Ollie, having prepared no Christmas bonbon jokes, looks one up: "Why did nobody bid for Rudolph and Blitzen on eBay? Because they were too dear." Mel responds "Insert applause."
Episode 215 - Bon bon voyage
Scott's dad jokes run through the episode rather than sitting in one block: "What's blue and doesn't weigh very much? Light blue", the lost-penguin-with-no-ears extension, "you've heard of Murphy's Law, but have you heard of Cole's Law? It's just thinly sliced cabbage", and the Star Wars one ("why don't the Jedi take off their shirts to greet each other? Because only a Sith deals in absolutes"). Mel notes that Scott sending her dad jokes at inappropriate moments is one of the things she will miss most.
Episode 188 - Merry Ugly Christmas
Inside Lyndell's Bunyaville report she puts Run Director Tim Ellis on the spot, "Now, Tim, you are the king of the dad jokes... I'm counting on you for a cracker of a Christmas joke", producing "What do you call Santa when he lives at the South Pole? A lost clause." Steve Marston follows with a deliberately punchline-less one, "why did the koala cuddle the pineapple?", which he lodges as a question on notice to Mel Erbacher; Mel answers it back in the studio with "because he knew it was sweet on the inside and he wanted to live pineapple-y ever after."
Episode 105
Embedded in PK's Mount Barker roving report: he announces "I'm going to get a few people to tell us some awesome jokes. Hopefully dad jokes." Three follow, the old man who fell down the well, standing in the corner because it's 90 degrees and jumping in a poodle.
Episode 99 - Patrick Tiernan
Scott jokes that it would be funny if Nhill parkrun one week had "nil parkrunners"; Mel groans "Oh, God, Scotty... I get your dad joke. Nice work popping that one in there."
Episode 91
On Miles parkrun launching in Queensland, Scott asks "Is that miles away from you? Or kilometres?" - Mel: "Such a dad joker. We haven't had any of your dad jokes in a while." Explicitly framed as one of Scott's dad jokes, though not run as a formally titled segment here.
Episode 58
Mel asks "Do you have a dad joke for us this week, Scott?" and Scott declines, "No more dad jokes... because people are mean", refusing to name the culprits beyond hinting they are Western Australians. Presented as the end of a running bit.
Episode 57
Mel: "Now, Scotty, dare I ask, do you have a dad joke for us this week?" Scott, having researched rather than relied on his repertoire, offers a knock-knock joke, "No bell... No bell, that's why I knocked", which Mel rejects outright: "That's not a dad joke. That's a crappy kid's joke... Knock-knock jokes aren't dad jokes." She refuses a second attempt. Flagged in the episode's own show notes as "Scotty scrapes the bottom of the barrel with this week's Dad Joke."
Episode 55
Scott's closing pun: he has bought Velcro spikes between the intro and the outro and they were "very expensive... I'm just hopeful that they're not a complete rip-off". Mel: "I'm not even going to need to ask you for your dad joke this week, obviously", and Scott: "You had to be sharp to pick up on that one, ladies and gentlemen, but that was it." Mel is then set the task of supplying a joke of her own for episode 56.
