We chat with Wynnum parkrun junior Noah Carter about past running achievements and future goals, and hear from Kate Lilley, Brightwater parkrun’s most avid junior volunteer. And our Channel 4 News Reporter Paul Kitching checks in from Bath Skyline parkrun in the UK.

Noah Carter
His 15km age-group world record (run in negative 5k splits, only his third go at the distance), what would be needed for official recognition, his once-a-week sprint training, his 148 parkruns across 11 different events, favourite courses (Minnippi, Stones Corner, Wishart), wanting to run 5 or 10K at the Olympics, Bushy as his dream parkrun, and his enjoyment of volunteering. His father John joins from [00:14:19] to explain they will not chase a formally accredited course so as not to put pressure on him.

Reaching 26 volunteer stints at age nine (more times than she has run), not yet having ordered her purple shirt, photographer being her favourite role and the feedback she gets, why she likes volunteering ("I get to see my friends... I like to see people smiling"), what she would say to someone who has never volunteered, and her favourite parkrun memory — going in fancy dress as a cat while also being the photographer.

Scott crosses to a pre-recorded report from junior roving reporter Zara Curtis at the You Yangs parkrun launch (Victoria), where she interviews two visiting tourists from Berwick Springs parkrun, Michaela and Vanessa, about the course, their parkrun counts and their favourite events (including a Russian parkrun with a palace).
Launches and anniversaries ("Where is the cake?")
Scott declares it "the biggest weekend of the year for anniversaries in parkrun Australia": Orange (NSW) launching, Highfields' first anniversary, five third anniversaries (Mosman NSW, Bunbury WA, Darwin NT, Mudgeeraba QLD and Westerfolds VIC — the last three of which launched the same weekend as Westerfolds), and Kawana's fourth. Extended cake talk follows: Scott confesses he is not a cake person, while Melissa describes baking a Martha Stewart golden sheet cake plus a possible gluten-free chocolate one for Kawana's barcode-themed anniversary party.

Scott hands off to "our mate PK from the Channel 4 News team", still touring the UK. PK reports from Bath Skyline parkrun on the last day of his UK tourism trip (after Bushy and Lanhydrock), plays the recorded run-director course briefing, then interviews Event Director Helen ("Bath Runner") about National Trust land and course rotation, and RD Mark about his two months as a run director.
