Chrome extension stats head-to-head
Prompted by a chat about "parkrun birthdays" (Scott 2 March 2013, Mel 3 November 2012), the hosts go category-by-category through the Running Challenges Chrome extension's additional athlete stats, scoring each as a contest: total parkruns (Scott 226, Mel 145), Wilson Index (Scott 6, Mel 3), tourist quotient (Mel 44.83%, Scott 28%), average parkrun latitude/longitude (Scott near Lake Tyrrell in northern Victoria, Mel inland from the Sunshine Coast near Roma) and total distance travelled as the decider (Scott 119,000km, Mel 93,980km). Scott declares himself the winner.
Launches and anniversaries ("Where is the cake?")
One launch this weekend — Centennial Park parkrun in Sydney, which Scott notes Tim Oberg has been working on "since he brought parkrun to Australia", with a tongue-in-cheek plea for listeners to stay away in week one so the numbers don't frighten anyone off. Anniversaries read alternately by both hosts: Bannockburn Bush (VIC), Berwick Springs (VIC), Galston (NSW), Kalgoorlie Boulder (WA), Mossman (NSW) and Yurunga (NSW).
The Hotline (listener questions)
Listener voicemail question segment, introduced by a produced "Hotline" sting. Bruce and Rory ask "What's your favourite music for running to?" Mel answers with Pink, The Fray, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, Walking on Sunshine and the Rocky theme, plus any song with running in the lyrics; Scott prefers anthemic electronic music but says he mostly listens to podcasts now.
