Welcome starts at 0:19
A Queensland episode, season four episode five: Melissa Erbacher on the Sunshine Coast and Scott Trickett on the Gold Coast on a hot Wednesday night, with an in-person interview to come and Scotty teasing a countdown to Mel's maternity break. Scott ran his 250th at Westerfolds with his mum and sister back, the same morning his wife was named parkrunner of the Month; Mel run-directed at home at Kawana, chasing a goal of 15 more RD stints and trying out a new first-timers briefing role, then Adam produced finish token 71 from his shorts, pilfered from Kawana the weekend she and Scott were at Sirromet.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 39:25
A trio of roving reports back to back, which Scott sums up as "a trifecta of raving [roving] reports this week": Mark Scarborough from Queanbeyan parkrun near Canberra (interviewing Run Director Vanessa), David "Mossy" Moss from Greenbank parkrun in Logan, Queensland (interviewing Co-Event Directors Chrissie and Stuart, pacer Dan the Motivator, and visiting parkrunner Amelia), and Lyndell Murray from Victory Heights Trail parkrun near Gympie (interviewing a mother-and-daughter pair, first-time Run Director Gaylene, junior parkrunner Cheyenne, and Event Director Jodie).
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 51:50
Lyndell Murray signs on explicitly for the crew: "It's Lyndell here. And I'm checking in this morning for the Channel 5 News crew, from Victory Heights Trail parkrun up near Gympie, just north of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland." She notes she postponed the trip a week because of Cyclone Oma, only to arrive in rain anyway.
Launches and anniversaries starts at 1:08:05"Where is the cake?"
Mel: "we've got a few anniversaries this week, but we don't have any launches." Anniversaries at Albury-Wodonga and Parramatta (NSW), Bairnsdale (Victoria) and Dawesville (WA), followed by a running joke about Albury-Wodonga being listed as NSW when the Wodonga half is in Victoria, "they've got enough time to jump into Victoria, say, how's your mother, turn around and go back again."
Sign-off starts at 1:19:29
Scott said he thought he was heading to Kirra the next day and asked to wrap up 148 so he could get to bed and perform his best in the morning, thanking Mel again; she replied that it was always a pleasure.
