Welcome starts at 0:23
Lyndell Murray hosting with Mel Erbacher, recorded on a Monday afternoon, recapping International parkrun Day. Lyndell stayed home for Bunyaville's 300th event, where regular Bruce Willis also ran his 300th, and earned her volunteer credit as a high-fiver in gold tights, clown wig and a homemade blue foam hand, clicking off 351 high fives; Mel recalled making a three-fingered Toy Story alien hand for Adam's Gold Coast Marathon, and the pair compared Bunyaville photographer Scott Triffitt with former co-host Scott Trickett.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 12:27
Two crew reports, branded as Channel 5 News Crew by the host in the recap "A couple of Channel 5 News crew members, we had Greta and Dave". Greta (Grette Wilkinson) covers Charleston parkrun's first anniversary in South Australia, green theme, rural setting, featuring core team member Naomi reading an anniversary poem in rhyming couplets with audience call-and-response, then interviews with tourist Tracey, young Largs Bay parkrunner Dylan in a propeller hat, and Mount Barker's Claire with her red kelpie Jaffa. David Moss, the show's Foreign Correspondent, reports from Hove Promenade parkrun in the UK on International parkrun Day, interviewing fellow Kawana parkrunner Sarah Graywald in the barcode queue and then Event Director and Sussex regional ambassador Mark Brocklehurst.
Launches and anniversaries starts at 12:33"Where is the cake?"
Charleston parkrun (South Australia) celebrates its first anniversary with a green dress-up theme, cake and a purpose-written poem; Greta had also filed the report from its launch a year earlier. Elsewhere Bunyaville parkrun marks its 300th event, on which regular Bruce Willis also ran his own 300th parkrun, and Dylan mentions Carrows Brook's anniversary the previous weekend.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 23:46
Cameron Drake's report, set apart from the Channel 5 crew by the host "and then Cameron back second week in a row with more roving reports, but this time from his home parkrun". He tours his local Tamworth Wetlands parkrun at Baldivis, WA, Evil Hill, the Puddle of Doom and the Skippy's Revenge turnaround, complete with a limerick about old man Skip, describes the wetland wildlife including a quenda (a near-threatened southern brown bandicoot, which both hosts admit they had never heard of), and interviews Shirley, Michelle and Run Director Sarah over post-run coffee at the Dome.
PALM starts at 44:01parkrun adventurers Listener Meetup
The date for palm20 is announced: the 6-7-8 March 2020 long weekend in Adelaide / South Australia, with parkrun day on Saturday 7 March and Friday-night festivities, and Monday 9 March optional (a public holiday only in SA, Victoria and the ACT). Organiser Gary Murphy's availability was the deciding factor; listeners are urged to book accommodation early because other events clash in Adelaide that weekend. The host notes former co-host Scotty Trickett will be there for a mini reunion, and jokes that availability that weekend is a prerequisite for whoever becomes the show's next co-host.
International Ugly Christmas Singlet Day starts at 47:41
Merchandise news: the 2019 Ugly Christmas Singlets are coming, still intended for an October release, design work commenced, still manufactured in Australia but in a lighter, more breathable fabric after feedback that last year's was not breathable enough for a technical running singlet. The colour scheme changes from last year's purple and orange; the only hint given is "we're going traditional ugly".
Sign-off starts at 49:51
Mel thanked Lyndell for joining her and added a belated thank you to Dave for the previous week, saying he had gone above and beyond technologically and that the schemozzle was in no way his fault. She said Lyndell had made hosting a pod look, or sound, extremely easy, was such a pro now and was always fun to have on, and both said they looked forward to doing it again.
