Welcome starts at 0:23
Mark Scarborough co-hosting from Canberra with Melissa Erbacher, after a windy week with five degrees on parkrun day and the Canberra Times Fun Run on Sunday. Mark's new home event is Wagi Bridge in Gungahlin, event three, where he is on the event team and ran another PB with his son James; Mel dropped a planned Gatton get-together because the boys were sick and instead barcode-scanned at Kawana to protect her tourism streak, with Emmett asleep beside her, and both praise the volunteer app. Coming up, Mark's first run directing at Wagi Bridge event four while ED Ian runs a marathon in New Zealand, with his gym invited along and milestone celebrants leading the pack across the bridge.
Meet the ED starts at 11:20
Studio interview with Ian Shaw, Event Director of the new Wagi Bridge parkrun in Gungahlin, ACT, run by Mark Scarborough and Melissa Erbacher. Covers the 18-month process of setting the event up to relieve congestion at Gungahlin parkrun, the crowdfunding campaign ($2,000 in a fortnight), the launch turnout of just under 350, the lap-based course design borrowed from Castlemaine parkrun so newcomers can build up to 5k, the bridge that gives the event its name (built to connect the Moncrieff and Amaroo communities) and its resident 'troll', the Gun Runners social running group, Matt's 15:29 pram record at Gungahlin, and Ian's own path from repeated injury in his twenties to five marathons and an ultra.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 32:53
TOC reports from Inverloch parkrun in Victoria, in blue skies turning to horizontal rain, and interviews two visiting tourists, Ailsa from Essex (home event Southend parkrun, finishing 76th against her usual 300s) and Louisa, UK-born but Melbourne-based with Studley Park as her home event.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 35:26
Lyndell Murray reports from Augustine Heights parkrun in Ipswich, half an hour west of Brisbane, taken to keep her tourist streak going and claim her NENDY. Three interviews: Sam, a local mother of four who completed the whole hilly two-lap course for the first time; Andrew, the day's Run Director, on the event's 2013 start, the smoke and heat, and visitors displaced by the bushfire closures at Greenbank and White Rock; and Simon, celebrating his 100th parkrun, an alphabet-challenge tourist on 20 letters and the course's secret 'phantom lawnmower'. Melissa Erbacher wraps both roving segments with "Two old faves back reporting in from their localities."

The host congratulated Mark on his first ever run direct coming up that weekend and said he had just nailed his second time out co-hosting the parkrun adventurers podcast; Mark said it felt fantastic and that it was good to be on the podcast and support what parkrun adventurers is about. He joked that she could have a free parkrun of her choice that weekend and she took him up on it, thanked him for chatting to her, and he said he was more than happy to share stories with the listeners.
