Welcome starts at 0:22
Melissa Ellis hosting with Ollie Spake, both winding down after Palm. Ollie was back in the vest at Shellharbour with lots of visitors and PBs on a cool morning, and is tapering for a big event next week. Mel returned to Fairpark Reserve, her mum's local, for a three-minute PB with Irene and Parth there and Zoe barcode scanning, then did the Anzac Day dawn service at the Eynesbury homestead with her Vietnam-veteran father-in-law before juniors, where kids are starting to earn 11 milestone wristbands; roving reports follow, starting with PK celebrating a milestone.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 8:01
First roving-report block. Paul Kitching (PK) files from Centennial parkrun in Sydney, his first ever interstate parkrun after five years and 167 parkruns in South Australia, interviewing Lynne (with the event since its October 2018 launch), Run Director Sam, Marius, Anne (75th parkrun on her 75th birthday, a founding member of the event) and Werner (40th parkrun on his 84th birthday, first parkrun in South Africa). Cameron Drake follows from Calleya parkrun in WA, canvassing parkrunners on whether anyone actually follows the stats challenges, pirate club, Wilson index, p-index, Passionistas, and finding one closet "challenge guy" among a table of shrugs. Both reporters open by naming the Channel 5 News crew.
Dazza's starts at 37:10
The cafe segment, Mel and Olly read out the week's listener check-ins. Contributors: Alison King (Kapiti Coast, stopwatch bingo), Neil Taylor (Ginninderra's ninth birthday), Tracy Wood (Chermside), Chris Fraser (Whalan Reserve), Claire Stutchbury (Rocks Riverside, 80th different event), Belinda Taylor (Sirromet, wallaby on course), Bruce Purdy (Nightcliff and the Parap markets), Ingrid Botha, Erica Liotta (Zillmere), Sam Schroder (Bowral, volunteering with a broken knee), Bec Bailey (Lake Mac), Joanne Ward (Maitland), Carolyn Leighton, Sally Heppleston (Warragul), Caro Vos (Woy Woy), Parth Bommakanti (Fair Park Reserve), Louise Minty (Point Walter not-parkrun), Cameron Drake, Val Warwick (Devonport), Daphne Day, Andrew Turner (Karkarook, Achilles group), Peter Dunn (Coburg), Adelina Trott (Bright), Tony O'Connell (Leighton launch) and Chantelle Hosking (Warringal). Olly and Mel describe it as "standing room only this week at the cafe".
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 48:44
Second roving-report block, introduced by Olly as "another few roving reports ... again, Alison, but a couple of new voices". Parth Bommakanti debuts from Fair Park Reserve parkrun with an interview with elite 1500m runner Adam Pike, who broke the course record and went under 15 minutes for the first time; Alison King reports from Kapiti Coast parkrun in New Zealand, interviewing visitors Florrie, Joanne and Megan and Run Director Bruce; and Jennine Sellers debuts from Mount Isa parkrun in Queensland, interviewing volunteer Lynn about the event's third birthday and its mining-town community.
Sign-off starts at 1:18:52
The hosts said where they would be next parkrun day: Ollie's home roster was full so he would be volunteer coordinating, maybe with a light jog around the course, and on the Sunday he would run Run Shellharbour, his second marathon ever; Mel was going on a road trip with Paul to event two of Ovens River Trail parkrun at Myrtleford in country Victoria, leaving Zoe with the grandparents, expecting a few fellow tourists and possibly some silo art touring. They then touched on the week's obvious omission, saying they could not elaborate for legal reasons until the investigation was completed and they had further advice from HR, but that they understood the Informant would be back, before Ollie said they would chat again next week.
