• Episode 419 - palm 25

  The traditional live Palm quiz. Lyndell Murray hosts, standing in for Simon Mackley, assisted by Tracey (microphone), Johan Duvenhage (scorer) and Mel (rules); contestants Rex, Andrew and Tanya buzz in on musical instruments. Ten questions on parkrun trivia - the oldest known parkrunner (initials CT), surnames matching Queenstown, a "where am I?" solved as Pegasus, parkruns with Alfred in the name (Port Alfred, South Africa), the newest New Zealand event (East Otago High School) and 2025 launch counts by country (Australia 14, UK 11, Germany 2, USA 1). Tanya, the local New Zealand contestant, wins with four points and picks a prize from the box.

  Simon Mackley, the quiz master, runs the annual Palm quiz with four contestants: Brendan Peel for Victoria, Sonia for New South Wales, Dave (Messenger) for WA and Eman for "Quizland", each on a percussion instrument, with TOC on microphone duty and Sarah Jefferson scoring. Questions covered registered parkrunners named South, the four Australian compass-point events, Queensland's custodial event moving from Wacol to Spring Creek, a "who am I" that turned out to be Sarah Jefferson herself, a "where am I" answered as New Farm, the surname Toowoomba, Simon's verbal tic ("indeed"), the co-hosting rotation, and a five-point tiebreaker on the hosts' combined parkrun count (1361, Mel 429, Ollie 227, TOC 367, Simon 338). Brendan Peel won on nine, Dave second on three, Sonia third on one and a half, Eman fourth. One answer doubled as an era fact: Ollie's last episode as a regular host before Palm was 371.

  The live palm listener-meetup quiz, which Ollie also calls "a bit of palm madness". Lyndell Murray stands in as quizmaster, crediting Simon Mackley as the actual quizmaster and question-writer; Chris keeps score on a spreadsheet. Four contestants with improvised buzzers: Brendan (Albert Park), Dawn (Chelsea Bicentennial), Michael "Shultzy" Schultz (Kedron) and Leonie (Brightwater). Questions covered where-am-I and who-am-I parkrun clues (including one whose answer was TOC/Tony O'Connell and one whose answer was Toolern Creek, "the home parkrun of Mel"), the Adrian Hon interview in ep253, the Consolidated Club List numbers, Abby's sign-off catchphrase, the informant's car (a 1991 Nissan Pulsar), the collective noun for ugly singlets, and which parkrun countries had not reopened after the COVID pause. Dawn won with 4, Brendan 3, Leonie 2, Shultzy 1.

• Episode 231 - The one with the bird

  Live quiz at the palm 2021 listener meet-up, hosted by Lyndell Murray as quizmaster with Ollie as scorer/adjudicator. Contestants Brendan Peel, Janet, Chris and Melissa (Taylor) answer parkrun-themed questions, a "where am I?" resolving to Nhill, a "who am I?" resolving to a Channel 5 News Crew member in the room, and multiple choice on parkrunners surnamed Sunshine and Coast. Brendan Peel wins on 5, taking pineapple chocolate and a "Ferrari"; a tiebreaker for second (guess Mel and Ollie's combined parkrun total, 468) is also run.
