TOC announces the full itinerary for PALM (the parkrun adventurers Listener Meetup) in Toowoomba, starting Friday 12 April: Friday Frio at Picnic Point Parklands parkrun and dinner at the Southern Hotel, Ruthven Street; Saturday at South Toowoomba parkrun with Eman Vergara as Run Director, breakfast and the live podcast recording at the exclusively booked Copper Bench Cafe; a Saturday afternoon Frio on the Toowoomba Queen's course; Saturday night fancy dress at the Toowoomba Sports Club; and a Sunday freedom run at Highfields parkrun followed by breakfast at the Abbey Lane Cafe. Listeners are asked to RSVP on the Listener Meetup page and can join the Messenger group.
Episode 367 - YMMV
Teasers for palm24, the parkrun adventurers Listener Meetup, in Toowoomba in April: exclusive on-site merchandise to be announced, and the reveal of the dress-up night theme - "being that we are going to be in the town of flowers" - after a run back through past years' themes (Newcastle, South Australia's 20s, Nambour's parkrun theme, Tasmania's P party, Western Australia's West).
Episode 226 - Crackerjack
Weekly update on palm21, the annual listener meetup on the Sunshine Coast (Nambour). After some fumbled sound-effect business, the hosts announce the fancy dress theme voted from listener suggestions: parkrun, come as your home event, dream event or any parkrun-related thing. Melissa Ellis imposes a new rule that you may not dress as your own home parkrun (banning Oliver Spake from being Shellharbour and TOC from being the Stump), muses about Chris Fraser as a giant sausage roll, and jokes about Mel Erbacher as a lighthouse. They also set a plan B for closed borders, a Facebook Live streamed from Dazza's cafe with a cross to Melissa Taylor on the ground at Nambour, and mention they have been asked by Danny and Nicola to host the With Me Now live for parkrun's return in England on 5 June.
