Episode 40 - Shoes for Planet Earth
Follow-up to last week's winners announcement. Costume and certificate update, winners Connie and Tina have asked for Club 50 and Club 100 certificates for the wider parkrun community. Honourable mentions: Tim McKinley (fastest and most accurate effort, run on an athletics track); "Maxawa" (longest, 24 km with 647 m of elevation); Melissa Taylor (points "for badassery" after climbing into a local showground); and Allan Hoskins for an 8.2 km attempt with his dogs. A recorded contribution from Ayela of Albert Melbourne follows at 00:50:46. Hosts confirm another competition is coming, but not a Strava one.
Episode 39 - Simon Kilma
Connie and Tina describe plotting the parkrun logo with cones and their kids as course markers, then Scott announces them as the competition winners, judged on accuracy. They pick prize option A (a costume accessory designed by Mel plus one of Scott's certificates) over the mystery-box option P; the hosts realise mid-segment that two winners means two certificates and two costume pieces.
Episode 38 - Tom Do Canto
The hosts admit they cannot agree on a winner despite having promised (or "guaranteed") a result this week, so the decision is deferred again, they will submit a top three to "the powers that be" and try to get them on the podcast to announce it. Both praise the unexpected volume and quality of entries and agree to run another one with clearer rules and more creative licence.
Episode 37 - Danny Norman
Scott confirms the entry deadline has been extended by a few days and that the winner will be announced next week, "100% guaranteed". Mel floats a coffee-table photo book of listener Strava art as future merch; Scott files it in the "ideas vault". Prizes referenced later in the episode are a certificate, two DVDs, a polo shirt and a "mystery option P".
Episode 36 - Lucy Bartholomew
Entries are still coming in with a week left to run. Melissa announces she intends to enter as well as judge. Scott reveals the fourth and final prize in option A: a parkrun polo shirt, for the newly invented "Polo Wednesdays", which leads into a run of banter about collars, ironing and activewear.
Episode 35 - Tom Williams
Scott: "We are now three weeks into our Strava Art Competition. The entries are flowing in, flooding in." The hosts run through the prize options, Option P (mystery prize of undisclosed value) versus Option A, and Mel reveals the third Option A prize: two signed DVDs, one each from the hosts' top-10 favourite movies. Entrants must be members of the parkrun adventurers Strava Club; the hosts tease the undisclosed judging criteria, noting ovals "may or might not win" and that they are increasingly impressed by large street-map drawings.
Episode 34 - Bill Irving
Second week of the competition. Entrants must recreate the parkrun tree logo as Strava art. Prizes under "option A" now include a one-of-a-kind costume accessory hand-crafted by Mel and a one-of-a-kind certificate designed by Scott (creator of parkrunner of the Month, the Certificate of Awesomeness and the Points Prize Medals), against "option P", a mystery prize of undisclosed value that could be 50 cents. Two more option-A prizes still to be announced; one entry already received; non-Facebook listeners can email for the image.
Episode 33 - Euan Bowman
The competition teased in the previous episode is revealed: join the parkrun adventurers Strava Club, then create Strava art replicating an image the hosts will post on the Facebook page. Entries between 24 August and 20 September, multiple entries allowed, sent to the show's Gmail address; winner announced in episode 37 and chooses between "option P" (a mystery prize of undisclosed value) and "option A" (starting with a one-of-a-kind costume accessory hand-crafted by Mel).
