The parkrun adventurers talk parkrun history as 92-year-old Norm Phillips becomes the world’s oldest member of the 100 Club, and parkrun Founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt shares his thoughts on this amazing achievement. Roving reporters catch up with Shepparton (opens in a new tab) parkrun Event Director Allan Connolly and parkrun multi-Statesman Brendan Peel, and we hear all about what’s on in the West with WA Territory Director Jez Savage.

  Norm Phillips voices the intro, then Scott Trickett and Melissa Erbacher note the good feedback and subscriptions after episode one and a new parkrun Australia attendance record of 22,624 (up from 18,489) with 4,912 first-timers and 2,345 unknowns. Ian Hay from Queensland is promised next week for Fun Facts with Ian. Scott, holidaying with family in Victoria's high country, added Wangaratta, a bridge crossing, a fairy garden about 1 km in, noisy frogs and a photo with the ED and RD.

  The listener challenge set in episode 1, get your photo taken with the Event Director / Run Director, is reported back on. Scott completed it at Wangaratta ("I got my photo with the ED and RD on the day"), Mel declares it "a podcast challenge accepted and completed" and asks listeners to hashtag #parkrunadventurers when posting theirs. Picked up again where Liv, the Event Director of the day at the Sirromet launch, "took a selfie with herself".

  Two field pieces from Shepparton parkrun's second anniversary: roving adventurer Matt interviews Event Director Allan Connolly about their record 182 attendance, the big hats and big hair theme and the Victoria Park Lake course; then junior adventurer Takesha interviews Brendan Peel, who was run directing so Allan could run his own 100th parkrun.

  Corrections and updates to last week's statesmen talk. Queensland's current statesman is Michael Schultz on 55 events, who was at the Sirromet launch to maintain it; Cathy Rae is the new New South Wales statesman having done all 36 NSW events (and is also one event off statesman in the ACT); and Brendan Peel is confirmed as the show's only multi-statesman, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

  "Time to have a look at what's on the calendar for this Saturday. We have no launches to attend but where is the cake?" No launches this week; St Peters in Sydney celebrates its fourth anniversary with a fluoro theme, and Point Cook in Melbourne its second with a Hawaiian theme, prompting Mel's recollection of Kawana's Hawaiian first anniversary and her pineapple costume.
