Renee Gimbert, National Operations Manager for parkrun Australia joins us to share her parkrun story and answer YOUR questions and Event Director Hamish Campbell gives us the rundown on Rhodes parkrun.

Roving Adventurer report (TOC at Churchill parkrun launch)
Scott crosses to Paul Kitching ("PK, our man in South Australia") for a self-contained field report from Strathalbyn parkrun, four weeks after launch. PK records on the drive out with Gary "Gaz" Denham, then interviews three generations of one family at the finish (Rhys, his father Peter Sandery on 101 parkruns, and his son Finn), and finishes at the Jack's Cafe after-party with Event Director James Clegg.

Mel crosses to Dave D'Alessio for a long field report covering all seven parkruns of Sydney's inaugural Longest Run (Cronulla, Menai, Rhodes, Cooks River, St Peter's, Mosman, Curl Curl). Includes on-course interviews with Bruce, organiser Paul, Klaus (who ran St Peter's in a cape and had to have it cut off at a service station), a Shellharbour parkrunner named Mel, and the comic "Barry Legstrong" from Westerfolds, then a course-by-course wrap.

Renee Gimbert, parkrun Australia's National Operations Manager and second full-time employee, tells her parkrun story (Main Beach day one, founding Coomera as Australia's seventh event, Territory Director) and answers listener questions from Peter Pohlman (what her role does; take-up of the apricot singlet and Tribesports) and William Barlow of the ACT (parkrun Australia social media). Closes with her top three parkruns — Main Beach, Bushy Park and Curl Curl — and news of rapid growth including Weipa.

Scott introduces "another event director from one of our events around Australia": Hamish Campbell of Rhodes parkrun. Covers the Bicentennial Park / Sydney Olympic Park course and its repeated re-routes around bridge works, his start at Parramatta with Jonathan Arthur, hosting the Run Beyond Project girls, Jess Trengove's visit, his sub-18 PB, and the parkruns still on his list (The Ponds, Cooks River).

Mel runs through recent achievements: the Run Beyond Project girls completing the 10k at the Westlink M7 Blacktown Running Festival, Brendan Peel becoming a "navigator" in the Compass Club at Kingscliff parkrun, and New Farm parkrun's 250th event.

Scott notes that social media "blew up" during the show's two-week break, with too many posts and photos to run through individually, and singles out Instagram over the weekend.

Scott covers the week's launch — Chelsea Bicentennial in Melbourne's south-east — then Mel cues "And where's the cake this week, Scotty?" for the anniversaries: Blackbutt (NSW) third anniversary, Claisebrook Cove (WA) and Victor Harbor (SA), the latter two running Olympic-themed events for the Rio opening ceremony.
