• Longest Run recap — Greater Sunshine Coast

  Scott asks Melissa about Sunday's Longest Run on the Sunshine Coast, which she organised. She covers the 4am alarm, the 6am start at Central Lakes, the weather, field sizes (never fewer than 15, peaking at 27 at Kawana), Nambour's reputation as the hardest course and its creek 'stack', and the 10 runners who completed all seven events. Also relays the Brisbane variations, including a Logan River runner named Mel who did the first five events pushing a pram.

• Roving adventurer report — Longest Run (Alyson Webster)

  A pre-recorded on-location roving report from the Sunshine Coast Longest Run. Alyson Webster, herself one of the longest runners, interviews two participants: Tina Kerwin (favourite course Nambour, calf muscles felt after Nambour) and Robert Harrison (favourite course Noosa, five new courses on the day). Signs off 'for parkrun Adventurers'.

• Guest interview — Stephen Dinneen (Olympic build-up with Liam Adams)

  The episode's title interview. Melbourne osteopath, sports scientist and Westerfolds parkrun course record holder Stephen Dinneen describes two weeks at altitude in Flagstaff, Arizona treating and training with Olympic marathoner Liam Adams — the coach-funded trip, osteo vs physio vs chiro, 180k weeks at 3,000m, the 'beware of bears' sign at Aspen Corner, Mitch Brown's sub-15 parkrun record, Two Bays trail running, and his prediction that Adams is in 2:11 shape and could run 2:13 in Rio.

• Guest interview — Dave 'Robbo' Robertson (Rio preview)

  Returning guest Robbo previews his and Mossy's trip to Rio as fans (won via the Australian Olympic team's chocolate partner), with inflatable kangaroo Jumpy in tow. He previews the men's and women's 5,000m fields, then describes Newy parkrun's send-off for Olympic marathoner Scott Westcott — a parade of nations with flags from every host country, a 1960 Olympian in attendance, and Westcott running a double parkrun in the rain. Closes teasing a pop-up parkrun with a parkrun flag at Copacabana Beach on 20 August.

• Pre-recorded interview — Scott Westcott at Newy parkrun

  A short clip Robbo recorded at Newy parkrun on the morning of the Rio opening ceremony. Westcott says he's off home to cook pancakes and watch the ceremony with his kids, jokes about Robbo's voice lasting 16 days, and says he's looking forward to watching Usain Bolt and David Rudisha and to lying in bed in the Olympic Village. He races the men's marathon on 21 August.

  The hosts read through the week's Facebook posts from listeners: the Chelsea Bicentennial parkrun launch (388 runners, the biggest launch in Victoria), Riverway parkrun in Townsville, Hervey Bay's Parkrunners of the Month certificates, Longest Run photos, St Peters, Maylands Peninsula's Olympic torch, Cairns, Diamond Creek, Westerfolds and Bunya.

  Scott reads a post from '_PK', referred to as 'our official member of the Channel 4 News team', who beat his 25:34 PB with a 24:27 — credited to Scott's new five-minute-kilometre playlist.

• Listener Facebook question — parkrun clubs

  Melissa raises a question from 'one of our regulars Peter Pohlman', who listed the parkrun Australia clubs he knows of and asked what he'd missed. She says she knows of at least one he hasn't listed and throws it open to listeners on the Facebook page. He also confirmed Blackbutt's 'C' anniversary theme referred to the third letter of the alphabet.

• Launches and anniversaries ("Where is the cake?")

  No new launches this week — unusual enough that the hosts remark on it. Anniversaries: Callaghan (NSW) first anniversary with an Olympics theme, and Wishart second anniversary with a superheroes theme.

  Two open call-outs: listeners are invited to suggest a new name for the hosts' 'most events list' [00:56:09], and Scott sets Melissa (and by extension listeners) the task of finding a favourite Olympic moment 'that maybe nobody else is talking about, that's not making the news' to report back on next week.
