Welcome starts at 0:06
Melissa Erbacher back with newborn Wesley on her lap, Scott Trickett recording from London. Mel was in labour during parkrun on 3 June, missing her first in years; Renee smashed her predicted 70.3 time and is talking about a full Ironman. Scott ran with a non-English-speaking stranger in suburban Bangkok, walked 38,000 steps a day in London and did his first international parkrun at Bushy, dodging deer on the path and finishing near his PB; they warn it will be a short episode, timed by how long Wes stays settled.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 12:51
Scott crosses over "One of only two members of our Channel 5 news crew reported in from the Redland Bay launch on Saturday. Are you ready for a roving report?" Lyndell Murray files a self-contained report from the Redland Bay parkrun launch in Queensland, chasing two questions: why the Redlands soil is red (answer: ancient volcanic activity) and whether she can find any parkrun pirates hunting the 'R' - she finds none. She interviews a local ("Lamo"), Robin from South Bank, Jane of the Sharks Triathlon Club, and ED Cheryl with RD Paul.
Launches and anniversaries starts at 21:03"Where is the cake?"
Scott calls it "Launches. Anniversaries." Launches: Dolls Point (NSW), Mernda (Victoria), Yipoon/Yeppoon (Queensland) - the latter flagged as a challenge for the Queensland statesmen because it is not easy to get to. Anniversaries: Burley Griffin (ACT), Corrine Glades (WA), North Shore and Town of Seaside (Queensland). Closes noting there are no junior parkrun launches to announce yet.
Sign-off starts at 27:31
Scott ended with 'and that's a wrap', saying he and Mel would hopefully speak to each other next week and telling listeners to stay tuned.
