The parkrun adventurers head cross country and catch up on some Netflix. The Big Cheese of parkrun Global, Tom Williams, joins us to share the behind-the-scenes goings on for the highly anticipated launch of parkrun Germany, and gets technical with the new parkrun Virtual Volunteer app. And we have roving reports from the inaugural North Harbour (opens in a new tab) and Sunbury (opens in a new tab) parkrun events.

Behind the scenes of the parkrun Germany launch (three events on 2 December, Leipzig, Mannheim, Hanover, with Berlin, Munich and Osnabrück in January, resourced through Jakub who also runs parkrun Poland), the new deliberately app-only model being trialled there, unusual event requests (aircraft carriers, space stations, Camp Bastion), and the new parkrun Virtual Volunteer app, how it grew out of a Newcastle company's timing/scanning app used at Newy parkrun, why paper barcodes still work at scale, and plans for a more phone-friendly WebFMS 2.0.

Melissa Erbacher and Scott Trickett counting down to episode 100, with Christmas chat: Scott wants to make his own tree this year (Yvonne unconvinced), Mel's goes up on 1 December. Scott flew up for Saturday's North Harbour launch, nearly stacked it on the out-and-back while clowning for Mel and Wes, and was surprised by Brisbane humidity on a cool morning. He has loaded up Netflix for the flights and wants listeners' recommendations (he is on Stranger Things and Toast; Mel suggests the IT Crowd), plus suggestions for who would play Scotty in a parkrun adventurers series, Mel's own doppelganger being Alyson Hannigan.

She opens "Hi ho, it's Lyndell the adventurer here reporting in for the Channel 5 News crew", having kitted herself out in a safari suit (channelling PK) and a Kermit-the-Frog-style reporter hat, then interviews first-timer Lynne, the Bunyaville contingent, Tim and Neil, Arne from the Embracing 2018 Legacy Program, and Event Director Connie.

Gary Murphy's roving report from the inaugural Sunbury parkrun (northwestern Melbourne), explicitly framed as "an audition for the Channel 5 News crew". He interviews launch Event Director Natalie Harrison, volunteers Jenny and Tanya, adventurer Nathan Castle, a group of four visitors, parkrunners Jess and Cheryl, and event ambassador Mark Porritt, and reports the naming debate over the course hill (Happy Hill vs Hell Hill).

Mel said she was off to a milestone event that weekend, event ambassador Adam Gimbert's 250th parkrun at Coomera, the seventh event in Australia, which he had helped start, and that it would be her first time running at the same time as someone much faster on their way to the green shirt. After a short exchange about parkrun's big weekend in Germany, Scotty offered the German for 'go crazy', verruckt werden, which Mel declared the word of the week for episode 92, and he signed off telling her to go crazy on Saturday and that he would speak to her next week.
