We check out another ‘fast’ event, taking a trip to Kirra (opens in a new tab) parkrun with Event Director Emma Nicholson. Plus we run for a long time and scale awesome heights with 2017 Coast to Kosci first finisher, and parkrun adventurer Kevin Muller.

Scott Trickett and Melissa Erbacher, back to a Wednesday night recording with Scott's dog Buster snoring beside him. Scott has had a rough couple of weeks: an emergency vet trip for Buster after flying home from North Harbour, and daughter Kasia in hospital, so on Saturday they went to Highlands in the rain, the friendliest three-lap event, so she could duck out after a lap. Mel took Wes, both dogs and family to Coomera for Adam Gimbert's 250th, where a loose horse delayed the start, and gives a shout-out to Matt Pollock's 100th at Port Macquarie, possibly in a kilt; Mel is on 47 events to Scott's 48 and he claims he is waiting for her to catch up.

Em (Emma) Nicholson, third Event Director of Kirra parkrun on the Gold Coast, Australia's fifth-oldest event, launched 18 February 2012 by Chris Van Hoof and later run by Pete Sinfield. She describes Kirra's "three Fs" (fast, flat and friendly), its growth from ~80 to ~160 finishers a week, the saga of a runner who printed out Scott Trickett's example barcode and logged runs under his name, discovering parkrun while patrolling Coolangatta as a police officer, and her favourite events (Warwick, Kingscliff, Main Beach). Closes with the show's new question, if money were no object, which parkrun?, answering Bushy Park, and breaking the news of a parkrun starting in Aspen, Colorado.

Anniversaries: Airlie Beach (QLD), Central Lakes (QLD), Menai (NSW), Rouse Hill (NSW), Stanthorpe (QLD) and Stockton (NSW), run as a call-and-response with Mel reading the list and Scott admitting he has been to only one of the six, prompting "And you call yourself an adventurer."
