The parkrun adventurers are intercontinental this week! To celebrate, we speak to uber-adventurer Paul Freyne about some of the highlights he’s had on his way to 400+ different parkruns. And we have roving reports from Channel 5 News Crew regulars Grete and TOC who were on the ground at the Goolwa parkrun and Ocean Grove parkrun launches respectively.

Two roving launch reports back to back, both flagged as Channel 5 News Crew: TOC at the Ocean Grove parkrun launch in Victoria (interviewing Claire from the Medibank Free + Active crew and Yvette, who started the event), then Greta at the Goolwa parkrun launch in South Australia (interviewing Sputnik, Tim, Jill and Julie from Victor Harbor, Justin, Jo and Louise from the Mount Barker crew, Kane, event ambassador James, and run director Paul). Mel closes it at [01:03:37] with "Massive thanks to Greta and Tok... As always, awesome effort from the Channel 5 News crew."
Astronaut club (17-launch adventurer club)
Prompted by a Facebook message from listener Nicole Sanday, who was heading to the Gainsborough Greens launch for her 15th launch, the hosts count their own parkrun launches. Scott has 16 and is "one off an astronaut"; Mel explains the astronaut club is an unofficial adventurer club requiring 17 launches, and guesses the number comes from the 17 Apollo missions after visiting the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Mel has been to ten launches (nine in Australia, one overseas).

One launch this weekend — Nulkaba in New South Wales, the 13th event in the Region of Runners, down from seven the previous weekend. Anniversaries: Applecross (WA), Batemans Bay (NSW), Cleveland (QLD), Echuca-Moama (VIC), Ginninderra (ACT), Queanbeyan (NSW) and Rhodes (NSW).
