The parkrun adventurers are getting over lurgies and heading for the hills. Scotty is about to embark on launching the first junior parkrun in Victoria and to get him prepared we speak to Southport juniors Event Director, parkrun Australia COO, and all-round good gal Renee Gimbert, as well as the Event Director of the soon-to-launch Cannonvale junior parkrun, parkrun Australia Head Honcho, and inaugural junior parkrun warm-up lead Tim Oberg. Plus the Channel 5 News Crew go all out with Roving Reports from launches in Queensland and South Australia.

Take two of episode 112 with Melissa Erbacher and Scott Trickett, after last week's snotty, glitch-ridden recording was scrapped; Scotty is recording from his car in a car park so he can run straight afterwards, his marathon training having slipped during a bout of man flu, and he had a quiet morning at Studley. Mel was at the Woodford parkrun launch in the Queensland hinterland near her Nana, tail walking with Wes in the carrier in fingerless gloves, which has the two of them level on events again; Lyndell reported from the launch, there are heaps of roving reports after two weeks off, and Simon Mackley has asked for a two-hour episode. Scotty is nervous and excited about Sunday's launch of Westerfolds juniors, Melbourne's only junior parkrun for the next 12 months, with daughter Kasia keen on the 2k and the whole family on the volunteer roster.

A bumper roving-report block, trailed by Mel as "some roving reports from our Channel 5 News crew this week" and named again by Lyndell "it's Lyndell reporting in for the Channel 5 News crew". Contains three reporters at the Jubilee Way parkrun launch in Wynn Vale, South Australia, Paul Kitching (PK), then a novelty three-way on-site chat between PK, Greta and David Moss, then Greta's and David Moss's own interviews, followed by Lyndell Murray at the Woodford parkrun launch in Queensland. Scott: "We put the challenge to them, and my God, did they deliver."

Launches acknowledged: Woodford (Qld), Jubilee Way (SA), Cobar (NSW), Euroa (Vic), and North Sydney launching that coming weekend. Scott asked where Mel was going and she said she was headed back to the Northern Territory to chase down a New Year's resolution and grab another compass point at Nightcliff, now the northernmost parkrun in Australia, having already done Darwin; asked earlier, she said she would not be at the North Sydney launch. They then joked about skipping episode 113 altogether because Scott is superstitious about 13, trailed next week's guests - real adventurers who had been bumped for the juniors episode and who had been in Italy when first approached - and Mel signed off by telling Scott to stop making excuses and get his run done before dark.
