The parkrun adventurers' intern appears to be MIA so Geographe Bay parkrun Event Director, West Australian parkrun Event Ambassador, founder of the wildly popular Pirate Club, and self-proclaimed 'definitely not a hat shop' Matty Trent joins us himself for some fun on episode 118. And the Channel 5 News Crew are out in force with roving reports coming in from Hastings Foreshore parkrun and Portland parkrun, plus we receive more entries for the Poem Zone! Western Australia update: the flat out-and-back Geographe Bay beach course near Busselton, recent and upcoming WA launches (Mount Helena, Tamworth Wetlands in Baldivis, Shipwreck parkrun), his origination of the Pirate Club (seven Cs and an R) during a hungover shower, the Derek Zoolander Centre for Kids Who Can't Run Good running club and a mock rivalry with Scott's Westerfoldians, his top three WA courses, the Melbourne Marathon, and his impending move to a small Great Southern town that will end his event directorship.

Two back-to-back Channel 5 News Crew roving reports, both from Victoria. Melissa Ellis reports from Hastings Foreshore parkrun's fourth birthday (fluoro theme, 119 attendance, bacon-and-egg barbecue) and interviews RD Tim Baldwin. Tony O'Connell (TOC) then reports from Portland parkrun, interviewing first-time run director Kay and volunteer scanner Tracy about the lagoon course, koalas, and their soccer commitments. Scott and Mel debrief both reports from the studio at [00:42:48].
Launches and anniversaries ("Where is the cake?")
An unusually thin week — one launch only, at Merriwa in New South Wales, and one anniversary, at Logan River. Scott theorises the sparseness is because it is the fifth Saturday in June, and jokes that Sarah Logan wrote a clause reserving the weekend's limelight for Logan River.
Poem Zone
Listener-submitted parkrun poetry. Scott had asked the previous week for something other than haikus, and the show's "number one fan" (a listener called Melissa, credited on air only as "a hashtag Melissa") sent two: a roses-are-red variant ("a 50 shirt is red, 500 is blue, the fun in between is all up to you") and a limerick about a girl from Kawana who sleeps through her alarm. Hosts ask for more submissions by email or Facebook, or hashtagged #PoemZone.
