Welcome starts at 0:08
Mel Erbacher in Australia and Scotty Trickett in Nottingham, on his way from the annual parkrun conference in Coventry via Hull and the Leeds office to London with colleagues Carol and Renee. Scotty reports on England's World Cup semi-final loss watched in a pub (he has Croatia in the parkrun sweep), a freedom run at Coventry parkrun, a 700-strong Leamington parkrun run at a leisurely 26 minutes, and the inaugural Backwards Hat Run Club outing with Rowan Ardill from episode 101.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 11:16
Scott sets it up, "have a treat with a bunch of roving reports", and the bulk of the episode is four self-contained roving segments: Martin from Neckarau parkrun, Germany (the show's first report from Deutschland,-); Gary Murphy from Coombs parkrun in the ACT (-); Alan, ED of Portland parkrun, filing from Narrabri in northern NSW (-); and Lyndell Murray from Bunyaville (-). Hosts recap the haul.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 42:14
Lyndell Murray reports from her home event Bunyaville parkrun, Brisbane, explicitly under the Channel 5 News Crew banner. She interviews the day's two milestoners: Xander Hawthorne on his 100th (complete with the Bunyaville tutu tradition) and Phil, who with his wife Claire founded Bunyaville, on his 250th and green shirt.
Launches and anniversaries starts at 50:23"Where is the cake?"
Weekly calendar read by Mel and Scott: one launch, Cormorant Bay in Queensland, and anniversaries at Bendigo, Dubbo, Gatton, Gawler, Noosa, Phillip Island and Wauchope, the last prompting the recurring "War-hope or Wa-choppy" pronunciation joke.
Poem Zone starts at 51:16
Listener-submitted parkrun poems read on air by Mel. This week's is from Chris Fraser: "parkrun on Saturday is the place to be. There's definitely not a sleep in for me. Whether I run or stroll, it's worthy of a sausage roll. parkrun Saturday, happy as can be." Mel wanted to run two poems; Scott insists on one a week to stretch the supply out.
Sign-off starts at 54:14
Mel said they would let Scott get back to having adventures so he could join them fresh next week with more tales, and promised an actual guest rather than just a ramble and roving reports. Scott apologised for a short episode but pointed to their commitment of one podcast a week while he was in the UK, Mel noted it was about the fourth time they had tried to line up recording across the time zones, and they shared the love for other new parkrun podcasts - Robbo's, a rumoured one from Danny and Nicola, and Vassos at Free Weekly Timed - before Scott signed off, back in Australia next week.
