Tania Hollis
Dunedin parkrun's return after New Zealand's COVID-19 lockdown - the two-week countdown, volunteer prep and the emotional first morning back ('one of those smiles that makes your face hurt'); her parkrun origin story as a volunteer then first-timer at Rockingham parkrun in Western Australia; adventuring around WA including a seven-parkrun 'longest day' and the now-closed Heirisson Island in the Swan River; inheriting Dunedin parkrun from founding ED Emma Lawrence; the botanic gardens course and its 'Stairs of Despair'; lockdown life and keeping the community connected on Facebook; Dunedin adopting the Netherlands as its return-weekend country (orange kit, Dutch biscuits) and finishing with exactly 165 runners, the same as the last pre-lockdown event; and her trip to Kapiti Coast parkrun, with a pronunciation lesson on Whangarei.
Mark Scarborough
Remote crossover from Dubbo, NSW at the start of a 14-week half-lap of Australia by caravan with his family - why the trip replaced a cancelled Europe holiday, the freedom runs already done at Lawson, Bathurst and Orange, replanning around state border closures, and his plan to file grouped not parkrun / freedom run reports from the road.

Welcome starts at 0:23
Mel Erbacher, proud to call the pod her own, with Lyndell Murray as co-host, on a roll of weekly episodes. Mel has done four weeks straight ofparkrun, two in week three, and her PB streak has ended as she returns to running after having Emmett; Lyndell has completed a virtual Peel Club in lockdown by spelling out Nightcliff with business names and Coombs with park names around her Brisbane suburbs, even finding a Studley Park in Queensland. A guest and a returning podcast stalwart with a new segment are lined up.
The Channel 5 News crew starts at 30:24
Mark Scarborough crosses over live from Dubbo, NSW, where he and his family are holed up in their caravan at the start of a 14-week half-lap of Australia - a trip pulled forward after their 12-week Europe plans were cancelled by COVID-19. He recaps the freedom runs / not parkruns already ticked off on the way (Lawson in the Blue Mountains, Bathurst, and Orange that morning, 'proper Canberra cold'), the logistics of replanning around state border closures ('we are now actually up to our plan D'), and announces a new series: grouped-together not parkrun / freedom run reports from the road. The hosts try and fail to coin a name for them ('freedom reports', 'free ports'). He jokes about flashing his Channel 5 News crew ID badge at the Queensland border.
Sign-off starts at 52:12
Mel called it another fun pod, said it had been great talking to Tania and then to Mark, and thanked Lyndell for her fine company along for the ride. Lyndell thanked her back, saying she had loved it again and enjoyed the conversations with Tania and Mark, and they signed off on the Fire Saga catchphrase 'ding dong'.
