Welcome starts at 0:23
Melissa Ellis on Wurundjeri Country with Ollie Spake returning on Dharawal Country for a Blue Moon episode, nursing man flu and lodging a complaint about the lack of Shellharbour content; his last parkrun remains 27 April, with Zali's soccer season, Shellharbour volunteering and helping his dad sail a yacht from Jervis Bay to Shellharbour marina keeping him away. TOC's Dex challenge drew 51 comments: Mel's Olidex is 14 (their first shared parkrun was St Peters in August 2015), Ollie's Tokidex eight and Simidex six, Jackie's Tokidex of 437 is ruled out, and Calum Burrell reports budgie smuggler ads; Yvette Turner and Bill wrote in from a cricket tour bus and Southampton parkrun. Mel skipped Maribyrnong for Wyndham Vale event 373 to farewell Nicola Wright before knee surgery, fell at the start line and walked with founding ED Maria Lodola-Price, who is handing over to Daryl Smith; Ollie recaps Shellharbour's muddy white-themed 10th anniversary with Tracey in a Tutu visiting, and a Bali holiday.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 25:13
Ollie hands over: "Mel, I think it's time to hand over to the... The Roving Reports. So we've got a couple for you this week." Two reports: Ingrid Botha at Jubilee parkrun, Tenterfield with ED Chrissie, and Alison at Moana Point Reserve parkrun, Whangamata NZ with ED Karen. Mel notes the coincidence that both events were at event number 15. Ollie riffs afterwards on Whangamata being "another potential fung... Cousin Fung".
Dazza's starts at 33:52
Posts from the virtual cafe, with this week's challenge being to include an Olympic-themed emoji. Read out: Ingrid Botha (Jubilee, Tenterfield, with Paris and a frond with Tracey Wood and the Queensland crew); Tracy Leiper (Ecco Ripley, boxing-kangaroo photo in a kangaroo onesie and Ugly Christmas Singlet); Rex Gream (Rock Creek Trail, USA, meeting past interviewee Amelia Griffo); Bec Bailey (Amsterdamse Bos, Netherlands); Chloe Bravos (Aveley, WA); Mark Hibbard (Lawson); Geoff Glaab (USA); Ian Thompson (Richmond Park, UK); Sue Keane (The Ponds); Calum Burrell (UK). Yvette Turner's post is read earlier. In the post-outro tag Ollie remembers to give next week's Dazza's word: "jumpy", the episode's title.
the Obi Award — Tracy Leeper starts at 41:59
Mel asks whether Ollie has the Obilope; he opens it and announces the winner. Awarded for her Dazza's post from Ecco Ripley parkrun, the boxing-kangaroo photo, in a kangaroo onesie and an Ugly Christmas Singlet: "There really had to be just one choice this week. The only colours we see this week are green and gold." Leads into a discussion of the boxing kangaroo, Matilda and Robbo's inflatable kangaroo "Jumpy", which gives the episode its title.
Emails starts at 43:40
A letter from Ali Sheppard, an 11-year UK parkrunner and new listener, who is coming to Sydney for work in late August and can fit in three parkruns; she already plans Dolls Point and something near Manly (Mosman or Curl Curl), asks for road-trip suggestions, offers to file roving reports, asks how to get an adventurers t-shirt, and asks what an Obilope, a frond, a Dazza and zoomies are. Mel and Ollie suggest Shellharbour, Newcastle and The Beaches, say the t-shirts were a limited release with no current plans for another run, and then explain the jargon: palm (parkrun adventurer Listener Meetup), frond, Dazza (the concrete statue at Mel's front door that fronts the Saturday virtual cafe), zoomie, Obilope, and the Obi, named for Tim Oberg.
Club Corner starts at 53:14
Rachel on regionally based clubs: the Queen B's (all Queensland parkruns starting with B, Bargara, Baringa, Berrinba, Bowen, Brightwater, Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, Broadbeach Waters, Bundaberg, Bunyaville), proposed by parkrun event ambassador Craig Murrell, who is also behind CQ (Central Queensland); plus COL (City of Logan), the Gippslander (Gippsland, Victoria), Turning Red (Redlands Shire) and a proposed "Olympian" club for the Olympic Highway, which stalls at two events (Cowra and Wagga). She closes with the reminder that all non-milestone clubs are unofficial and unsupported by parkrun.
Consolidated Club Report starts at 56:11

UK 53 events; five in South Africa, three in the USA, two each in Germany, Canada, Italy and Ireland, one each in Austria, the Netherlands and Denmark. the Frond starts at 57:29
Ollie reports four international fronds of three, California Country (UK), Morden (UK), University of Northampton (UK) and Mitchells Plain (South Africa), with Wendy Pallant's Dazza's post from the University of Northampton frond alongside Gabby Lipson, Lee Stott and Steph. Locally the largest was a frond of six at Broken Hill Racecourse for the event's fifth birthday, where Sherry Brandtman completed her 100th location to join the Cowell Club.
Launches and anniversaries starts at 59:16"Where is the cake?"
New events this week: Pirrama parkrun in Sydney (two laps from the apron by the Pirrama Park kiosk past the old Pyrmont Bridge site, 28 volunteers, 219 finishers, 10 first-timers); Seaview parkrun at Bucasia, Mackay (out and back along the coast, 16 volunteers, 152 finishers, 31 first-timers); Welland Canals Trail parkrun in Ontario, Canada (88 participants, nine volunteers, 23 first-timers, from the St Catharines Museum); and Withernsea Promenade parkrun in the East Riding of Yorkshire (149 participants, 17 volunteers, three laps of the promenade). Earlier in the episode Ollie also marks Shellharbour parkrun's 10th anniversary, celebrated with a white milestone theme in the mud.
Streaky September starts at 1:04:12
Mel flags that Streaky September is approaching and they need to get organised; Ollie promises the Streakmeister podcast and community tips, and agrees to again be the creator of the Bingoe card, a job he took over from Scotty when he and Mel inherited the podcast. September is also a Blue Moon month, so he will be back to be held to account.
Sign-off starts at 1:05:30
Mel went first and admitted she had no plans yet, only that it would be local with no touristing; Ollie said he would be volunteering at Shellharbour, run directing while his mum tail walked for her combined 250 parkrun and 50 volunteer milestone, with cake to follow, and Mel wished Galen a great day and said she looked forward to the photos. Mel noted Simon was back in the chair next week and thanked Ollie for joining her; he thanked her and everyone for letting him indulge in a dose of parkrun after a long wait, said he looked forward to the next blue moon, and closed with the Facebook and email contacts and 'that's it for another week'.
