Episode 62
Scott reads back answers to the club's question "your dream parkrun location — where do we need a new parkrun?" Nominations include TOC's surf coast / Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Melissa Ellis' Bonny Doon (over Lake Eildon), the Flinders Ranges, and Ross going international with Central Park in New York and the Tiergarten in Berlin. It rolls straight into the Medibank competition to fly a listener to an existing Australian parkrun of their choice.
Episode 61
Mel raises the question posted in the show's Strava group that week — where would you most like to see a parkrun that doesn't have one yet — prompted by Lyndell having to improvise a pop-up in New Plymouth. Scott picks the high country: a snowfields/mountain-top parkrun, naming Dinner Plain, Jindabyne and Thredbo. Mel picks the opposite, the Red Centre — a Northern Territory / Alice Springs parkrun "so that we're sharing the love a bit" beyond Kalgoorlie-Boulder, giving people crossing the middle of the country somewhere to get their parkrun fix. Scott adds northern Western Australia as a gap on the map. Listeners are pointed to the Strava club to answer, and to the recent activity and club leaderboard — with a running gag that Scott hasn't been on the leaderboard because he hasn't run in five days.
Episode 60
Short preview of next week's Strava-focused round-up: Scott reports that cracking the top 100 of the parkrun Adventurers Strava Club now takes roughly 35-36 km in a week, and 30 km will not get you on the leaderboard at all. Mel notes she has never made the leaderboard.
Episode 46
Mel asks "How are we doing on Strava, Scotty?" — the club is at 259 members with lots of running, boosted by members doing ultras; they wonder whether triathlon-season cycling and swimming will show on the leaderboard.
Episode 32 - Lorraine Lawson
The parkrun Adventurers Strava club sits on 151 members; Scott jokes "I'm not Ian Hay, but..." while giving the numbers. Weekly leaderboard: Brendan Davies 130.3km, John Pearson 130.1km. A Strava-based listener competition is teased for next week's episode.
Episode 24 - Rochelle Vaisanen
Weekly check on the podcast's Strava Club. New member Brendan Davies has joined and immediately smashed out 120km at 4:28 pace while on holiday overseas; Scott predicts he'll top the leaderboard most weeks. Mel ("Rebel Rouser") is missing from the top 100 because she has become separated from her watch, iPod and car keys at the end of a Darwin trip, so none of her recent runs have synced.
