• Episode 102

  Explicitly skipped this week - Mel at [01:02:21] "Yeah, no word of the week. I seem to have remembered everything I meant to say... there is no official word for the week this week." Logged because the segment is referenced by name as a standing fixture, not because one was delivered.

• Episode 98

  Last week's challenge — the name for the garment sumo wrestlers wear. No listener answered, so Mel researched it herself: it is a mawashi (distinct from the pre-WWII fundoshi), can weigh over eight pounds, is up to two feet wide, and is emphatically not a nappy. Because listeners didn't play along, the hosts declare there is no word of the week set for next week.

• Episode 97

  Prompted by Heather's past sumo-wrestler costume, Scott names it on the spot - "I think we need a jingle for this segment now. Mel's word of the day" - and sets the question: what do you call the underpants sumo wrestlers wear? Listeners are asked to text Mel the answer.

• Episode 96

  Mel gropes for the term for the ratio of volunteering to runs and can't retrieve it ([01:14:01] "There's my word of the week that I don't know what the hell I'm thinking of"); Scott turns it into the listener bit at [01:14:26] "we've got a word of the week for our listeners to guess". Played here as a running gag rather than a formally set-up segment.

• Episode 92

  Scott supplies the German for "go crazy" ahead of the parkrun Germany launch — "verrückt werden" (ASR: "Verrack Verden") — and Mel names it at [01:03:24]: "Which is our word of the week for episode 92."

• Episode 90

  Prompted by "Whitfords Nodes", Mel nominates "node" as a possible word of the week and reports back that last week's word turned out to be "space hopper", which Scott still refuses to accept.

• Episode 38 - Tom Do Canto

  Scott's closing vocabulary bit. This week's word is "equanimity" — "mentally or emotionally stable, especially under tension or strain, calmness" — which he applies to himself as an alternative to "lazy and laid back", prompting a debate with Mel about the Queensland virtue of being laid back and whether the adjective is "equanimous".

• Episode 37 - Danny Norman

  Closing vocabulary bit — Mel: "last week we had the first ever educational podcast word of the week. Have you got a new one for us?" Scott's word is "indolent", chosen because he skipped his midweek runs; he glosses it as "addicted to the life of pleasure" and "feeling a bit lazy".

• Episode 34 - Bill Irving

  Melissa pulls Scott up for saying "volunteering" instead of the podcast's coined term volunTOURing — [00:38:15] "You got it wrong, Scotty" / "The V word" / "Yes, that's better. You said volunteering." The term returns at [00:43:53] when the hosts note someone else has "pilfered the term that we have coined on this podcast" in a J.K. Rowling article about overseas orphanage voluntourism.
