Roving reports
In this episode
Meet the ED
Kelly Bright, Co-Event Director of Petrie parkrun (north Brisbane) and a serving police officer of 25 years, on the Cops and Robbers day she has organised across the North Brisbane territory (Petrie, Bunyaville, North Lakes, Warner Lakes, Sandgate, Mitchelton, plus Bundaberg, Mansfield, Cleveland and Broadbeach Waters), its police health-and-wellness message, a visit from the Petrie family including Lavinia Petrie, the Petrie course description, and Zoe the "Disney parkrunner" as parkrunner of the Month.
Roving Adventurers (roving reporter crossovers)
Three roving reports introduced together by Mel: Zara Curtis from the Portarlington parkrun launch (interviewing event director Fiona), Lyndell Murray from her home event Bunyaville on International parkrun Day, and Greta Wilkinson from Ararat while camping in the Grampians. Hosts debrief at [01:11:39] and formally add Greta to the roving crew.
Channel 5 News Crew
Lyndell Murray reports "for the Channel 5 News crew" from Bunyaville parkrun, interviewing volunteers Fionn (photographer), Wayne and Bob (tokens), Marie (tail walker/communications), Tess (run director and volunteer coordinator) and Grace (run director since age 14), then signs off "for the Channel 5 News crew on International parkrun Day 2017". At [01:11:46] Mel says Greta "wants in on the Channel 5 News crew" and the hosts sign her up.
Launches and anniversaries ("Where is the cake?")
Launches this weekend at Bannockburn Bush (Victoria) and Urunga (New South Wales); anniversaries at Berwick Springs and Hamilton (Victoria), Galston (NSW) and Kalgoorlie-Boulder (WA).
The Perlustration (annual listener survey)
Launch of the 2017 parkrun Adventurers Annual Perlustration. Hosts tease a mix of repeat and new questions, promise incentives across the month it stays open, plan to report the analysis in November, and float "Do you want to see the parkrun adventurers back for 2018?" as one of the questions — tied to Scott's admission that the show will finish 2017 in the 90s rather than reaching episode 100.
