We speak to Wynnum parkrun Run Director and newly anointed ‘Time Traveller’ Mark Musk about his epic adventure across the globe. Channel 5 News Crew faves Dave and PK are back with roving reports from Cormorant Bay parkrun and the Pakapakanthi parkrun trial. And we have a whole host of challenges for those looking to add some adventure to their lives in coming weeks.

Becoming one of only about three "time travellers" in the world — running Wynnum parkrun in Brisbane at 7am, flying to Vancouver and, thanks to the international date line, arriving in time to run Richmond Olympic parkrun the same Saturday morning. Also covers his international parkrun touring (Paris, Bushy, New Zealand), Kangaroo Island parkrun, finding parkrun through a cricket teammate, becoming an RD at Wynnum, and tips for tourists.

parkrun adventure challenge (listener challenge)
Scott sets an August challenge for the adventurers off the back of his own non-training phase: one freedom run a week for the month of August, all 5K or under. Mel makes him make it attainable ([00:04:51] "One freedom run a week. That's what we'll do for the month of August"), and notes it dovetails with Streaky September coming up.
Channel 5 News Crew
Two roving inserts back to back, flagged in the show notes as "Channel 5 News Crew faves Dave and PK". David Moss reports from the inaugural Cormorant Bay parkrun launch on Lake Wivenhoe west of Brisbane, with vox pops from participant Janine, Event Director Jodie and visitor Susan. Paul Kitching then reports from the Pakapakanthi parkrun trial at Victoria Park, Adelaide, interviewing Brendan Peel (of Peel Club fame), Michelle, and incoming ED Alicia Hopper. Scott and Mel hand back at [01:00:04].
Launches and anniversaries ("Where is the cake?")
Two launches this week — one in Queensland and Geeveston in Tasmania (ASR "Jeeveston"), the latter becoming the new southernmost Compass Point. Anniversaries at Armidale (NSW), Mansfield (Qld), Meadowbrook (Qld), Pittsworth (Qld) and Renmark (SA), with Mel thanking the event teams.
The Compass Club (new adventurer club)
Mel notes the Geeveston launch shifts the southern Compass Point for the third time this year and is the last point she needs to become a navigator. She proposes that anyone holding all four compass points simultaneously should keep navigator status permanently even after the points move, and announces she will make (not sell) engraved navigator medals — pending agreement from her co-conspirator Chris/Christine Timms.
Poem Zone
Scott reads this week's listener poem cold, without a rehearsal read-through, and fumbles the last rhyme. The poem is by "our good buddy Caroline Southwell... one of our favourite Poem Zone contributors". He also apologises that last week's Poem Zone went out without its intro music.
parkrun adventure challenge (listener challenge)
A second challenge, aimed at Western Australian listeners: work out the identity of the anonymous Facebook parkrunner "Lego Admiral Ackbar". Mel's own theories have been denied by the people she contacted; listeners with a theory are asked to get in touch or record audio, with the goal of getting the Admiral on the show.
