The parkrun adventurers are all about podcasts and agents this week. We dig deeper into the parkrun Virtual Volunteer app with Newism rep and Newy parkrun Event Director Penny Redhead, and Dave ‘Robbo’ Robertson joins us once more, this time for a Magical Mystery Tour. ‘Local’ roving reports see adventurers exploring Phillip Island and Doomadgee parkruns, plus Channel 5 News Crew member turned Foreign Correspondent Dave Moss reports all the way from Hampstead Heath parkrun in the UK.

His new podcast the Marathon Mystery Tour with Steve 'Mona' Monaghetti (the Beatles nod, the Anchor platform, release plans), the founding story of Newy parkrun in July 2012 after first running on the Gold Coast and meeting Tim Oberg, how parkrun in Australia has changed in six years, and his own running/Alphabeteer progress.

Mel's scroll fails mid-poem at [00:48:09] so she reads only the final line.

Roving report block set up at [00:48:52] "let's get to roving reports because we've got three, three batches". TOC reports from Phillip Island for the Channel 5 News crew and interviews course-record setter Hannah Oldroyd; Dave Moss is promoted from Channel 5 News crew member to the show's first Foreign Correspondent and files from Hampstead Heath parkrun in London, interviewing ED Andy and first-time Run Director Michelle.

parkrun adventure challenge (listener challenge)
The August Freedom Run Challenge kicks off — one freedom run a week for the month of August, pitched as a lead-in to Streaky September. Scott has already done one at Diamond Creek; Mel, who had refused, relents and plans one in Melbourne. Listeners are asked to share on Strava/Instagram (#parkrunadventurers) and to email audio reviews of their freedom runs to parkrunadventurers@gmail.com.
