UK parkrun adventurers Vicky Cooper and Stuart Henderson pop by to share their parkrun love story. Grette Wilkinson is back with a report for the Channel 5 News Crew from Pakapakanthi, and we say a fond farewell to a fun segment, and announce its exciting replacement!

The parkrun love story behind the episode title: Vicky and Stuart met through the UK Facebook group "parkrun and Single", had their first date touring London parkruns (Hampstead Heath, Highbury Fields), and got engaged at Redcliffe parkrun in Queensland on 16 December — a photo that went on the global newsletter. Also their ambassador roles, Stuart's freedom-run statistics, their parkrun-first wedding plans for July next year, and their dream parkruns (Comrades-eve in South Africa, Bere Island, Crissy Field).

Same interview as above — Stuart explains what a parkrun adjudication ambassador does (announced visits, risk assessments, best practice, ~15 in the UK), describes proposing to Vicky at Redcliffe parkrun with a ring carried from the UK, and reads out his freedom-run spreadsheet stats (403 total parkruns including freedom runs, 190 different freedom runs, 39 times run director, 15 adjudications).

Greta Wilkinson's roving report from the launch of Pakapakanthi parkrun (Victoria Park) in central Adelaide, SA. She interviews first-timer Brendan, Naomi and Ethan, the barcode scanners Anthony and Charlissa, volunteer Peter, the eleven South Australian "statespeople" retaining their statesmanship, PK and James on timing and tokens (James on the course, the Kaurna name and the council grant), the onesie-clad marshals Karen Bentley and Janet Reid, and Event Director Alicia. Over 350 finishers and the Lord Mayor started the event.
Launches and anniversaries ("Where is the cake?")
One launch this weekend: Tamworth Wetlands in Western Australia (the hosts spend a while on the WA-vs-NSW Tamworth confusion). Anniversaries at Greenbank (QLD), Torquay (VIC) and Wishart (QLD).
Poem Zone
The final instalment of the Poem Zone, complete with its own jingle for the last time. The poem is by regular contributor Caroline Southwell — a piece about being spoilt for choice with 300-plus Australian parkruns and knowing why you do what you do — read alternately by Scott and Mel.
parkrun adventure challenge — reverse freedom run
August "Freedom Run month" — the hosts' challenge to do one freedom run a week during August, referred back to from a previous episode. Listeners are asked to record audio while out on their freedom runs; Melissa Ellis's dispatch from Toolern Creek is the first submission played. Mel admits she recorded her own freedom run audio for the With Me Now podcast instead.
parkrun Adventurers Hotline
New segment announced as the Poem Zone's replacement: listeners record a question as a voice memo and email it to parkrunadventurers@gmail.com or send it via Facebook Messenger, and the hosts will answer it on air. Scott promises a jingle regardless of whether any questions arrive; Mel threatens violin screeching if none do.

The episode closes with a listener-recommended sing-along track — Toto's "Africa" — played out over the final three and a half minutes.
