His RunNation Film Festival short 'A Mile an Hour', running a mile around his block every hour for 24 hours while making a table, a canoe paddle, planting trees and mowing the lawn at night between laps; the craft of short-form filmmaking versus feature length; the tension between his academic post at Monash and wanting to be in the field; being outdoors and mental health; and what's next (a book deal, the commute project, finishing films on the cutting-room floor).

Welcome starts at 0:15
Scotty Trickett hosting with Mel Erbacher, recapping the parkrun Australasia conference weekend in Sydney: a lightning storm caught them on a boat heading to camp on a harbour island, with visitors from South Africa, New Zealand, Malaysia and the UK. Their GreenWay showdown saw Scotty cross the line first while Mel claims victory on high fives; 70-odd ambassadors ran, and Scotty managed a 'belly PB'. A new parkrun podcast gets a mention for later, and Grette Wilkinson's roving report with the GreenWay Event Directors follows.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 6:15
Greta roves at Greenway parkrun (Sydney) on parkrun Australasia conference weekend, interviewing the two Event Directors, Mel and Rachel, about the event's February launch, its 300-plus launch turnout, their parkrun backgrounds and their motivation for bringing an event to the local community. Introduced by Scott and thanked by Mel as "a member of the Channel 5 News crew".
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 39:51
Melissa Ellis roves at Toolern Creek parkrun (Melton, Victoria), walking the out-and-back course with Tail Walker Matt and talking to him about being new to parkrun, walking rather than running, volunteering, his weight-loss journey and the parkrun clubs/Alphabeteers challenge. Self-introduced as "from the Channel 5 News crew".
Launches and anniversaries starts at 42:40"Where is the cake?"
Scott notes "No launches again this week, Mel. We're in a barren period of new events", then he and Mel alternate the week's anniversaries: Broadbeach Waters (QLD), Nuriootpa (SA), Pakenham (VIC), Palmerston (NT) and Redcliffe (QLD).
Hotline starts at 43:08
Listener voice messages played and answered on air. Barney asks which is harder to give up during Streaky September, lollies or caffeine (Mel says lollies, Scott says caffeine; they agree to settle it with a Facebook poll). Brendo from Shellharbour asks Scott "hashtag, what the font?", answered as "BC Falster Grotesque Bold", which spins off into Mel's decade-in-progress novel and her habit of naming characters before plotting.
Streaky September starts at 49:18
Progress check on the month-long daily 2km challenge: Scott is still on track despite sore ribs, his daughter runs laps of the school oval by herself to keep her streak, Mel's toddler Wes broke his, and Mel thanks the listeners who confirmed they track streaks with Strava on their phones rather than GPS watches. Also referenced as "streaky bingo".
Sign-off starts at 52:29
Scott gave some love to another parkrun podcast he had discovered during the week, Stay Frosty parkrun - a solo one-woman show from the UK, making four to choose from - and then said they were running out of time, so he was putting the Double Barrel Club on the run sheet for next week and left listeners to have a think about what it might be.
