Her 51-day end-to-end walk of the Bibbulmun Track from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills to Albany, how she found the track, hut-to-hut days, food drops and her "track angel" Elsie, wildlife and wildflowers, the weight of a 17 kg pack, homesickness, and keeping her 766-day running streak alive along the way. She bookended the trek with parkruns: Claisebrook Cove before starting and Mt Clarence at Albany at the finish. Next up, an expression of interest in a 25-day trek in Nepal in 2021.

Welcome starts at 0:26
Melissa Erbacher with Melissa Ellis. Mel Ellis was at the wet Campaspe parkrun launch, walking with her daughter Zoe and two chihuahuas while Paul ran on his birthday and came back to carry one dog home; Mel Erbacher made a weekend of Ros Gregor Trail parkrun in Nanango with a farm stay in Kingaroy, event four for her Wilson Index, a 51:14 on her parkrun birthday (shared with Nicola Forward of With Me Now) and her fifteenth different event for the year, and briefly met Nicole Sanday. Mel Ellis has hit 250 parkruns and her Cowell, her proposal for a junior parkrun in Melbourne's western suburbs is one of six new junior events approved by parkrun Australia, and she has been accepted as an outreach ambassador supporting Glen Turner on the Generations Project for older Australians.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 30:36
Two roving reports back to back. TOC files from the launch of Campaspe parkrun at Woodend in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria, damp conditions, an out-and-back along Five Mile Creek with a bouncy bridge, and around 280 starters, interviewing new local parkrunner David, Co-Event Director Matt, and volunteers Dave Edwards and Nancy at the Milko cafe afterwards. Then foreign correspondent David Moss reports from Coldham's Common parkrun in Cambridge, UK, in its 52nd week, interviewing Co-Event Director Mark about the event's origins, the new Coldham's Common junior parkrun and running a parkrun barefoot during the rugby. Back in the studio the hosts also set Cameron Drake ("Cam over in WA") his crew challenge, voted on by the news crew: interview somebody at parkrun he doesn't already know who is also a pod listener, with bonus points if they can name an existing news crew member.
International Ugly Christmas Singlet Day starts at 45:25
Erbacher notes that ordering for the 2019 Ugly Christmas Singlets has closed, and promotes the inaugural international Ugly Christmas Singlet Day on 21 December 2019, "less than eight weeks away". She also shouts out an anonymous listener spotted in Manly, Queensland wearing their 2018 Ugly Christmas Singlet to the hairdresser mid-week.
Sign-off starts at 47:00
The hosts worked through their festive-season plans: Mel Ellis will be at her home event Toolern Creek for its first Christmas Day parkrun, and cannot travel to South Australia at New Year because her husband was refused leave, scuppering plans for four new parkruns in eight days; the host does not yet know where she will volunteer on Christmas Day, likely somewhere in Brisbane, and will be in South Australia for the New Year's Day double, expecting three new events over that weekend and the following one. She pointed listeners to the New Year's Day double finder tool, giving the URL as tailrun.uk with NYD and 2020, and noted only about a dozen doubles had been declared so far. She then thanked Mel Ellis for joining her as co-host, said it was a ball and she always has a giggle, and congratulated her on her recent parkrun achievements, challenges and volunteering.
