Melissa Ellis hosting with Tony O'Connell back in the co-host chair after Victoria's pause. TOC'sparkrun weekend was his usual Cape Paterson circuit and then the Afterglow night run on Victoria's west coast, dressed as a unicorn in last year's Ugly Christmas Singlet, winning a headlamp for his costume; Mel stayed local at the Peppertree parkrun course with Event Director Adrian Hillyer, Run Director Amy, Brendan Peel and Jodie Mainzy, three of them in the brand new Ugly Christmas Shirts, then brunch at the Bake and Brew Cafe.

Weekly news wrap, closed off with "That's probably all our wrap-up of news from the past week." Three items: Crissy Field parkrun in San Francisco announces on 19 November that it can no longer resume at its venue (tourists pointed to Bixby parkrun half an hour south); parkrun HQ announces that digital barcodes may be scanned from Saturday 27 November, though printed barcodes are still requested; and a final call on the second Ugly Christmas Singlet/shirt order, closing Sunday 28 November and never reprinting.
the Obi Award starts at 9:19
The naming discussion for the show's yet-to-be-named weekly kudos award. Melissa Ellis reviews last week's ideas floated with Oliver Spake (the Dazzler, the Parky, the Abbey) and proposes naming it after parkrun Australia's Tim Oberg: "So it would be the Oberg Award, a.k.a. the Obi. We could have the Obis award." Tony O'Connell likes it but asks listeners for more suggestions. Patrick Sch(m)itzek is floated as this week's contender for his Strava art, but no award is actually made.
Roving reports & the Channel 5 News crew starts at 14:42
Three back-to-back roving reports, all from women, prompting Melissa Ellis's hand-back "So thanks, girls. Clean sweep from the girls." Sign-off starts at 1:02:35
Mel asked TOC what was on his radar for Saturday; he and his co-driver Jackie were doing the eight-hour road trip to Canberra for Burley Griffin parkrun, a new event that took them closer to becoming statesmen in the Territory, and he was doing the first-timers briefing. Mel announced that Victoria was back that week but that she would stay local because it was Zoe's birthday, possibly scanning her barcode at Maribyrnong parkrun where she had planned aparkrun instead. She thanked TOC for joining her and answering the SOS, hoped he would be back soon with more Palm updates, and signed off with the Facebook and parkrunadventures@gmail.com contacts and "that's it for another week".
