Guest interview — Wilfrid Palcy (Airlie Beach)
Melissa Erbacher's own field interview, recorded after Airlie Beach parkrun, with French runner Wilfrid Palcy, who is running 52 half marathons in 52 weeks across five continents for La Fondation du Souffle and had never heard of parkrun until the podcast crew signed him up on the spot the night before.
Guest interview — Jessica Trengove
The episode's headline interview: Australian Olympic marathoner Jess Trengove on Rio preparation, altitude training in Flagstaff, her foot injury, race nutrition, her Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games bronze, her parkruns at Mount Gambier and Torrens, and her Rundies running-underwear business.
Rundies market research (undies vox pop)
A comedy tie-in to the Trengove interview: Mel and Scott separately went to their parkruns and asked people what underwear they run in. Mel gets a rapid-fire string of answers from local women; Scott's single attempt ends with a runner telling him "just get away from me, creep", after which he gave up.
Reverse freedom runs (listener challenge playback)
Playback of four listener-submitted audio diaries responding to a challenge set a couple of episodes earlier to run a parkrun course in reverse: Ross Pentland at Jells, Melissa and Paul at Portland, William Barlow at Ginninderra in Canberra, and Tegan and Jules back at Jells. Mel complains that three of the four came from Victoria and none from Queensland.
Social Adventurers
Weekly run through listener posts and tags — Instagram sightings at Coburg, Lilydale Lake, Meadowbrook, Altona Beach, Westerfolds, Parkville and Maribyrnong, jump-shot photo technique chat, Facebook comments and a podcast review from Michael Scott.
The Compass Club (new adventurer club)
Follow-up on Mel's listener initiative for parkrunners who have run at all four compass points. Listener suggestions for what to call qualifying members are read out (Peter Pohlman's ideas, Nicholas J. Sando's "navigators"), and Mel confirms she and her co-creator Christine have settled on "navigators".
Weirdest place you've listened to the podcast (listener question)
Prompted by Brendan Scholarly saying he listens while driving to work at 4am, Mel poses a new question to listeners: where is the weirdest place and/or time you've listened to the podcast?
Launches and anniversaries ("Where is the cake?")
Upcoming launches (Bathurst NSW, Weipa QLD, and Christies Beach SA the following week) and anniversaries (Coomera's fourth with crazy hair, Maryborough's first with Christmas in July, which Mel is travelling to). Also the announcement that there will be no episode 30 next week — the hosts are taking a mid-year break until the first week of August.
