Episode 456 - The hype team
Introduced by Lyndell as "your segment, emails" (with the "You've got mail" sound effect). One email this fortnight, from Ali Sheppard, confirming that ibis exist outside Australia but "bin chickens" is a purely Australian term - backing up Simon and Sarah from the previous episode - along with stories about her ibis encounters, some real and some statues.
Episode 455 - Tantrums, Tears and Tribulations
"Simon, we have mail" — an email from Brett and Tanya Bailey in New Zealand covering upcoming South Island events, their V100 and Tanya's 250th milestone, an Australian road trip at Christmas, and their apologies for missing PALM 27 in Canberra.
episode 452 - The Away Game
Opened by a "You've got mail" stinger. A long email from Pippa "the Streakmeister" proposing a new challenge, Birthday Squared (parkrun on your own birthday at an event celebrating its anniversary the same day), achieved at Amager Fælled parkrun in Denmark on 16 May 2026; she also plugs Dave Thornton's Periodic Table Challenge and Mark Pinney's Challenge Chaser website. A short second email from Dave Messenger flags Queensway parkrun (UK, launched 6 June) as a rare Q event, Q being the world's limiting letter for alphabet challenges.
Episode 451 - Let those pies fly high
Announced with the catchphrase "You've got mail" at [00:57:34]. A single long email from Andy and Deb Airy (A1083171) about their 16-day Japan group trip for Greenery Day and three other events: planned over two years, 400 expressions of interest, 174 in the final group after Middle East flight disruptions, attendance and volunteer records broken at three events, Japan's national record beaten twice. Sarah reads the first half and Simon takes over at [00:59:30] because of its length. Mentions upcoming South Africa/St Helena (April) and New Zealand/Australia (Christmas–New Year 2028) group trips.
Episode 450 - Celebrations and pronunciations
Introduced with the "You've got mail" sting. One email, from roving adventurer Michael Blaine, congratulating the pod on 450 episodes and following up episode 449's Reginald piece on Malaysia's single event, Precinct 18 in Putrajaya — the weekly team dance posted to Instagram, the 25 April frond of 15 adventurers, hotel and Uber advice from Kuala Lumpur.
Episode 448 - Surrounded by clowns
Introduced by a "You've got mail" stinger. Just one email for the fortnight, from Lee (A467161), who fears an early trip to Japan from late March to mid-April may have cost them a place at Palm next year; Lyndell replies that no Palm 2027 dates or locations are set yet.
Episode 447 - You raise me up
Simon's "You've got mail" cue introduces four listener emails: Sherry Brantman on her first PALM (including the best-costume winners Ingrid, Sam, Luke and Bec, and a listener who dressed as Paul Rainbow); Ingrid on her parkrun goals for the year; a listener travelling in South Africa recommending Cannibal's Cave; and Leanne (A382990) on running the Tarawera Ultra Trail Miler in 28 hours of rain and mud.
Episode 446 - Show us your weed
Listener email bag, opened with a "You've got mail" sound effect. Two emails: Ian Shaw (day-one listener, guest on episode 182) on his "Tutu/Two-Two Day" numerology - 22:12 at Gungahlin on 22/2/2025 and 22:22 at Wagga Bridge on the June solstice, his birthday; and Alistair (tourism streak 28) with two coffee reports, one from an unnamed "restricted" event the hosts deduce is Puckapunyal, and one from Rhodes NSW event 516.
Episode 444 - Addicted to Love
Opened by Simon at [00:49:14] "Moving on to emails" with a "You've got mail" sting. One long email from UK listener Xavier Sanchez, following up his mention in episode 442, laying out a two-month Cairns-to-Sydney road trip and a 10-event shortlist (Glanoma, Cardwell, Mackay, Emerald, Workman's Beach, Vickrey Heights, Nambour, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, The Beaches). Sarah and Simon give tourism advice and invite listener suggestions.
Episode 443 - Gelato in Milano
Listener email segment, cued by Lyndell as "your favourite segment, Toc" and opened by a "You've got mail" drop. Four emails, all responding to the 2026 goals discussion in episode 442: Heather Hunter (A760611, chasing her Cowell Club, one new event a month); Yvette Turner (100 different Australian parkruns, Sydney Marathon with husband Bill, keep enjoying parkrun); Eman and Christine of Team Vigara (a one-year four-continent world parkrun adventure from July, asking to borrow a Channel 5 News crew press pass); and Tutu Tracy Leeper (A845608, Date Bingo at 92%, 340 of 366 days). TOC notes his "passionate pleas" for email did spark an influx.
Episode 442 - A Lil Bit of Hope
Listener mail from Andy and Wendella Poole about running parkrun in snow — five times across Sweden, the USA and Poland (Bultofta, Skatås, Malmö, Vallaskogen, Uppsala, ITC Community Sport) — with Simon pointing out they listed five occasions but only four places.
